Founded in 1724 as a chapel to Mottram In Longdendale: St. Michael. In 1840 it became the district church for part of the township of Tintwistle (previously served by Mottram In Longdendale: St. Michael).

A collection of transcriptions from the large cemetery in Alderley. The first burials were in 1907.

A set of transcriptions by Macclesfield Ferrets of:

- St Marys

- Over Alderley Methodist

- Tenants Hall, Alderley Park

This publication was created in 1996 by Mr Hartley Jones.

It contains a graveyard map, transcriptions from all the graves on that date and a index to the inscriptions.

A graveyard that first opened in 1849.
