St Matthew's Community Hall, Stretford, viewed from Chapel Lane. In 1970, prior to building the Community Hall, the foundations of two earlier churches were exposed.
St Matthew's Parish Church, Stretford, was built in 1841-2 on land given by Sir Thomas Joseph de Trafford. ( A Stretford Chapel has been in existence from before 1413.)
