A talk by member David Shaw entitled 'Captain Benjamin'
A fun story about Benjamin, from being a lad in Rochdale via a time fighting in the Napoleonic Wars, to his ‘dubious’ activities in Manchester, including his time as an innkeeper who found himself in court having hosted an eloping couple.
The story closes with his death and an unexpected twist as his long-suffering wife has the last surprise.
Note: Entrance fee now £2.00 for members and visitors.
