Who are we?

  • The Family History Society of Cheshire (FHSC) was founded in 1969 to advance the study of family history and genealogy.
  • The Society is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies and also the North West Group of Family History Societies.
  • All our officers and officials are unpaid volunteers, helping in their spare time.
  • We produce a large number of Publications relating to Cheshire family history.
  • Why you should join

  • Four copies a year of our ‘Award Winning’ magazine the Cheshire Ancestor.
  • Members only web site content e.g., research guides and information.
  • Surnames interests being researched by other members.
  • Help from our Volunteers at our two well stocked libraries/research centres.
