Meeting to talk about Family History Resources - Tuesday 19th September at 7:30pm

Congleton Family History Group meet in Congleton Library following their summer break. We will bring ourselves up to date with resources. There will examples of the good ways and the not so good ways of researching your family tree. There will be examples of the best ways of using online resources. It will include new ones and ones that have changed.

Members and visitors are asked if they would like to contribute or seek help by discussing  their experiences in how to find and use records. The meeting is as usual in the library and we use the downstairs entrance. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings.

February 2015: Photo of the month

Astbury, c. 1907

This postcard was sent on September 18th, 1907 to Miss H. Brugess (sic), The Lowe farm, Buglawton, Congleton and bears an intriguing message:

"Dear Harriett, will you ask your mother if she will let you meet me at the Town Hall at quarter to seven on Thursday night. I sent to J.R.(?) and he will tell T. with fond love from a Friend N. I."

So - who is the mysterious N.I.? Did he meet Harriett at the town hall?
