With its close proximity to the educational, academic, medical and commercial heartland of Manchester, Didsbury became the home of such well-known figures as physicists, Lord Rutherford and Lord Bragg; mathematicians, Douglas Hartree and Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw; engineers such as Daniel Adamson, Henry Simon and his family and medics such as Sir Geoffrey Jefferson. Who were they? In this talk their work, their lives, their achievements and their homes will be illustrated.
