CHESHIRE HIGHWAYMAN AND SERIAL BIGAMIST

William, known by several surnames, roamed Cheshire roads, including Great Budworth. After robbing Royal Mail a number of times, became known as 'The Postmaster' and attracted a reward of £200. During his escapades, he acquired three wives and several children. Finally caught and facing the noose in Chester, he attempted to escape ten times. This is a story of comedy and tragedy.
