Discussion Topics

Working with Multiple Screens

Peter Rowley our Secretary, tells me he’s recently connected a monitor as a second screen to his newish laptop. However, he seems unable to get programs to run on the screen he wants.

He asks if anyone else has come across this problem, and how to solve it.

I’d like to open this subject up a bit.  I’m aware that a number of our members operate with more than one monitor.

Can we have some good basic input from users: covering the use variations, benefits, complications etcetera.

A key factor has to be the availability or cost of another screen, as well as the space to put it!

Index to Cheshire Ancestor and NTS

Joe Dunn has just sent me his latest update to include the September journal.  It works fine.  I’ve asked him to give us a demo, and to discuss how the program can be made more widely usable.

It inevitably needs access to a database of all the Ancestors.  In my case the program directly accesses my own system.  Seeing as I create them in the first place, they’re all databased there.

Use by members though requires online access via the FHSC website.
