George Redmunds from Huddersfield is one of the country’s leading authorities on the history and development of surnames. He says that "The surname acted like documentation at a time when they didn`t have forms". Dr Redmonds has written several books on surnames, forenames and placenames. This is a rearranged meeting from January this year which was originally cancelled due to the bad weather.
