The Altrincham Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except December), starting at 7.30pm at the The Jubilee Centre, The Firs, Bowdon, Altrincham. There is plenty of free car parking available. We have a speaker for many of the meetings, but we do also have months which are devoted to members and their particular interests or problems.
The Altrincham Group is fortunate that David Johnson usually comes to the meetings to set up a very well stocked book and map stall, giving our members a chance to browse and purchase items and see the latest additions to his stock. He is very knowledgeable about the books and it would be rare if he did not have something for you to buy to help in your research.
We have an annual outing in June, visiting places of interest to family historians
The A.G.M. is held each July - usually followed by strawberries and cream.
New and old members, friends and visitors are always warmly welcome at our meetings.
We can help with your family history research not only in Altrincham but in the county, country or even world-wide ! there are many experienced researchers in our group who are only too happy to help beginners or those members with their seemingly insoluble brick walls
