Whether you are a total beginner, frustrated at things not working or just happy to help others, there is something here for you. Our programme covers a wide variety of topics to help beginners as well as those already familiar with computers. Each meeting includes topical explanations/demonstrations and a Question & Answer session. For some meetings we go on-line to explore the numerous genealogical sources on the Internet.

Click here to email the Macclesfield Computer Group.

There is also a Computer Group for the whole of the Society.

Macclesfield Group Projects

The Group has several worthwhile projects that would be helped along if we had more transcribers. If you can spare a little time (even an hour a week would help) please contact Joyce Rishworth our Project Co-ordinator (email: Joyce Rishworth) for more details.

In conjunction with the Silk Museum, the Group has reproduced on CD-ROM the Macclesfield Town Map of 1871. At a scale of 10 feet to a mile the map gives amazing detail. The CD is now available for purchase. Please contact Dennis Whyte for more details.
