Meetings
The Bebington Group meets on the last Monday of each month in Bebington Civic Centre, Civic Way, Bebington Village, starting at 7.30pm. Please check the room number in the foyer.
August was our AGM, where the existing committee were all re-elected. This was followed by a very interesting talk by Claire Moorhead on the Williamson Tunnels under Liverpool. The following week we had a very well-attended guided tour of the tunnels. A fascinating, if puzzling, civil engineering feat.
Our September meeting was a departure from our usual format. Two of our members, Sheila Jones and Gerry War, led an "open" meeting when a number of our members gave short talks about their own research in unusual sources. It was a very successful night and the format will be repeated next year.
In October, Linda & Sony Raee gave a talk about the Vikings in Wirral. Not a slide or computer in sight, but they held everyone enthralled for the whole evening. We look forward to another talk in the not-too-distant future.
